The useful bit
What the answer means
A percentage makes progress easier to compare across different starting weights. The calculation uses only the two numbers you enter; the unit cancels out, so the percentage is the same in kilograms or pounds.
The goal bar is separate. It shows the share of the distance between your starting weight and your own goal that you have covered. Jabwise does not choose or judge that goal.

Questions people ask
How do I calculate percentage of weight lost?
Subtract your current weight from your starting weight, divide the result by your starting weight, then multiply by 100.
Does it matter whether I use kg or pounds?
No. Use the same unit for both weights and the percentage is identical. The calculator can also show the result in kg, pounds and stone.
Is this the same as percentage towards my goal?
No. Percentage lost compares your loss with your starting weight. Goal progress compares it with the full distance from your start to the goal you entered.
Are my weights saved?
No. The calculation happens in your browser. Jabwise does not receive or store the values you enter.
